Energy360 electronics / Power buffering

Capacitor Banks.

Give your motion system a buffer for short bursts of motor current. Energy360 capacitor banks work with the main board to support battery-free operation and help protect the power supply.

Absorb the peaks.

Motion motors draw brief, high-current spikes during aggressive movement. A capacitor bank supplies energy during these events and reduces the immediate demand on the power supply.

For an indoor rig, this provides a way to avoid a battery and the associated charging and off-gassing concerns.

  • Buffers short motor-current spikes
  • Helps maintain voltage through motion events
  • Reduces short-term load on the power supply
  • Designed for battery-free operation
Managed startup

Charge under control.

An empty capacitor bank can draw a large inrush current at startup. The Energy360 main board monitors the bank's charge level and manages charging so the supply is not hit by that initial surge.

The capacitor bank is part of a connected system and works in conjunction with the main board to create a safe and worry-free setup.

  • Main-board charge monitoring
  • Controlled startup charging
  • Two capacity options for different motion demands
  • 12V or 24V system planning
Choose your capacity

Two capacitor bank options.

Choose the capacity that fits your rig's current spikes and motion intensity.

Energy360 66,000 microfarad capacitor bank with two capacitors
Option 01

66,000 µF

A budget-conscious configuration that absorbs short motor current spikes while the power supply shares the load.

Energy360 198,000 microfarad bank with six capacitors
Option 02

198,000 µF

More stored energy to handle larger current spikes during aggressive motion and reduce stress on the supply.

24V system configuration

Plan the banks together.

For 24V DC operation you will need two capacitor banks per main board. These banks must be wired in series to protect your 24V power supplies from surge currents and help your rig run smoothly during direction changes.

  • 12V: select the capacity for the rig
  • 24V: two banks in series per main board
